If walls could talk they'd have plenty to say about the Jennie Wade House in Gettysburg, PA. Twenty year old Jennie's life was snuffed out during the Battle of Gettysburg. She was the only woman citizen killed in the battle. While baking bread for the Union troops in her sister's home, (which was between enemy lines) she was shot in the back. Bullets pierced two doors before striking and killing her. Many believe her spirit still haunts the house. Some have seen people in period clothing, figures who appear and disappear, faces in mirrors, children laughing, objects being moved around the house, the feeling of someone touching one's hair and the repetition of footsteps being heard along the route where Union soldiers carried her body to safety.
